In a mathematics class a teacher asked his students to solve a problem of probability. The problem read like this:

A person speaks 4 lies out of every 5 statements he makes. He throws a fair die and reports that it is a ‘three’. What is the probability that it is actually a ‘three’?

A student stood up and said, “What kind of a person speaks 4 lies out of 5”.

Teacher, “It is not an example of real life. It is an example which would help us to understand the concept of probability.”

Another student stood up and said, “He must be a politician.”
